I run a multi-faceted career as a choral fixer, choral consultant offering a variety of advisory services to choirs, and mezzo-soprano.

About

I approach every project with immense care and attention to detail. My considerable industry experience in management and performance ensures that the product and guidance I deliver fulfils the requirements of the artistic director and ensemble.

Ruth Kiang studied at the Universities of Durham and Cambridge, holding a Choral Scholarship at Trinity College, before starting her professional life as a singer in London in 2005.

During the height of the Pandemic, Ruth was approached and invited to start fixing a high-profile choral group.

Having worked in the choral industry as a singer for over 15 years, she was delighted to put her experience into developing and shaping the sounds of choirs.

She has since developed a broad portfolio of freelance choral fixing, including Choir of the Academy of Ancient Music, London Early Opera, Polyphony and Sonoro.

She founded Choral Extras as a service for amateur choirs, providing professional singers to fill gaps in ensembles. In addition, she fixes on an ad-hoc basis for a variety of performances and recordings.

She now runs a busy freelance career, fixing singers and performing with a variety of high-profile vocal ensembles, and offering consultancy services to choirs, offering recording guidance, audition management and fee restructuring reviews.
