Louise will contact all applicants by Wednesday 4 February and let them know the results of shortlisting, offering audition times to successful applicants and explaining the format of the audition. Singers will be asked to let Louise know what they will be singing in their audition. There will be an opportunity for those who have not been shortlisted to request feedback at this stage.
On Friday 27 February Louise will share the identity and contact details of singers who have auditioned with Ruth.
Ruth will email singers who have auditioned with results and feedback after the audition days. All singers who have auditioned will receive an email by Thursday 5 March.
What to expect in the audition
Auditions will last for approximately 10 minutes and singers will be asked to sing one piece of their choice and two prepared choral extracts. There will not be any sight-reading. Choral extracts will be emailed to singers by Louise one week before their audition date. Hard copies of extracts will be provided at the audition. Singers will need to bring a hard copy of their chosen piece for the accompanist. Copies are not required for the panel.
A warm-up room (with piano) will be available at the venue 10 minutes before each audition time.
The panel will consist of Ruth Kiang and Dan Ludford-Thomas. Richard Pearce will be the accompanist.
Auditions will be screened and directed by the pianist. There will be no communication with the panel and singers will be asked not to speak at all during their audition.
